Solar wall lights
Wall mounting is where solar lighting earns its keep: no cable run, no electrician, and light exactly where a doorway, yard wall or stair needs it. The catalogue records four wall formats — a PIR sensor wall light, a motion sensor wall light, a three-head 74 LED model and a PIR security model — and this page sets out the two general-purpose wall lights in detail; the security format has its own page.
Solar PIR sensor wall light
The PIR model is the compact option: DC 5 V input from its photovoltaic panel, IP65 sealing, an SMD 2835 light source and a 270° beam angle. The record lists three working modes, a 6000 K daylight colour, a CRI of 80 and a 25,000-hour service life. Plastic housing with a polycarbonate diffuser keeps the unit light for fixing to fences, sheds and exterior walls.
| Power source | Photovoltaic, DC 5 V |
|---|---|
| IP rating | IP65 |
| Light source | SMD 2835 LED |
| Beam angle | 270° |
| Modes | 3 modes |
| Colour temperature | 6000 K (Daylight) |
| Service life (record) | 25,000 h |
Solar motion sensor wall light
The motion sensor variant records an IP54 enclosure, 100 lm output and a featherweight 0.17 kg body — the easiest of the range to mount on lightweight structures. It also works in three modes at 6000 K, with a recorded service life of 15,000 hours. Between the two, the choice is exposure and output: IP65 and the PIR format for open weather positions, the lighter IP54 model for sheltered walls, porches and covered entries.
Three-head 74 LED solar wall light
Where one fitting must cover a yard corner or a wide wall, the three-head model spreads 74 LEDs across three adjustable heads. The record lists a 3.7 V 1200 mAh battery, three lighting levels, IP65 sealing, a polycrystalline panel and a 19 × 12 × 12.4 cm body at 0.5 kg. It is covered in depth on the motion sensor lights page alongside the sensing technology it uses.
Choosing between the wall formats
- Open, rain-exposed wall: PIR wall light (IP65) or three-head (IP65).
- Sheltered entry or porch: motion sensor wall light (IP54, 0.17 kg).
- Security-led brief: the 100 LED PIR security model — see the security lights page.
- All wall models are self-contained solar units; none needs a mains connection.
How do the 3 modes differ?
The product records list 3 modes for these models without defining each one, so the mode logic is a confirmation item: ask for the exact mode set of your chosen model at quote stage before ordering.
Can wall lights be branded?
Ask for OEM options per model when you enquire; several solar records in this catalogue list OEM branding.
Mounting height and exposure
Wall lights live or die on two installation details. First, height: mount sensor formats so the sensor's field covers the approach without staring at the sky — in practice that means fixing at roughly head height or just above on residential walls, and checking that the 270° beam is not half-swallowed by an eave or a corner return. Second, exposure: a solar wall light's panel faces the same direction as the fitting, so a north-facing wall in the northern hemisphere (or any wall in permanent shade) will undercharge even an IP65 model with a healthy battery. Where the only workable wall is shaded, choose the format whose record gives the strongest panel and battery combination, and set expectations for winter runtime accordingly — or move the security duty to a floodlight with a separated panel run.
