Rechargeable light bulbs

A rechargeable light bulb is an ordinary screw-in bulb with a battery inside: it charges while the mains is on and keeps working — in the same socket — when the power fails. For markets with daily load-shedding or unreliable feeders, it is the simplest resilience product there is, because it needs no new fitting, no wiring and no behaviour change from the user. The catalogue records two rechargeable bulb models, and they split cleanly by runtime.

A70 E27 rechargeable emergency bulb

The A70 is the configurable option: power options of 7 W, 9 W, 12 W and 15 W, an 1800 mAh battery and emergency lighting time options of 1–4 hours. It runs on AC 220 V (±10%) through an E27 base, in 6000 K cold white with a CRI of 80, a 270° beam and a milky-white PC cover. Packing is recorded at 1 piece per box and 100 pieces per carton — a retail-ready format.

Rechargeable LED emergency bulb (long runtime)

The second model is the runtime option: emergency lighting of 8–10 hours from the same E27 format, at 6000 K with a 270° beam and 90–100 lm/W luminous flux. Where the A70 is specced per programme (choose the power, choose the runtime), this model is the single-answer bulb for overnight backup — the one to put in bedrooms, stairs and security-critical rooms.

Rechargeable bulbs vs lanterns

Both live in the emergency family, but they cover different ground. Bulbs protect fixed points automatically — nobody has to find them in the dark. Lanterns (see solar lanterns & camping lights) move with the user. Most outage programmes buy both; the dedicated emergency light bulbs page covers the outage-buying brief in full.

Do rechargeable bulbs charge in any socket?

They charge while the light is switched on with mains present, through the standard E27 socket — no separate charger.

Can I choose the runtime?

On the A70, yes: emergency time options of 1–4 h are part of the record, alongside four power options. The long-runtime model is fixed at 8–10 h.

Are they dimmable?

The records list dimmable as "None" for both rechargeable models — they are on/off bulbs with battery backup.

Rechargeable bulbs beyond the home

The home-outage story dominates this category, but the same product earns its keep in three other settings. Market stalls and kiosks use socket-charged bulbs where the stall has daytime power and evening trade — the bulb charges on the shop circuit and lights the stall after hours. Rental properties use them to hand tenants resilience without rewiring anything. And small hospitality — guesthouses, campsites, beach bars — uses them to keep paths and bathrooms lit through outages that would otherwise be review-worthy events. In each setting the buying logic is identical: the fitting already exists, the behaviour change is zero, and the resilience arrives by the carton. Programmes serving these segments should quote the two runtime philosophies side by side — endurance for critical points, configurable for everywhere else.
